2024 ToshoCON Idol Showcase Rules and FAQs

Idol Showcase rules:

  1. All performances must be PG rated or lower.
  2. Performances must be related to an anime or idol group.
  3. Performances must have a maximum running time of 5 minutes or less.
  4. The maximum amount of participants in a group is 10 people. Only one application is needed for the group, please have the person who applies be a reliable point of contact for the group.
  5. Please do not do any dangerous stunts, use messy stage props, or do anything that could hinder the performance experience for others.
  6. Costumes must be PG rated. Nudity is not allowed, including the illusion of nudity. Plunging necklines, underboob, sideboob, and bare chests are not allowed. Shorts and skirts must cover your behind. Shoes are required. Make sure your costume will not shift inappropriately while dancing and moving. Prop weapons are allowed. If you have questions about the appropriateness of your outfit, feel free to contact us for clarification.
  7. You must provide the music/pre-recorded track for your performance. Please make sure it is submitted in its “public radio edited” version without vulgarity or obscene, indecent, and profane content. Music should be submitted as an MP3 file in the application.
  8. You are free to either lip sync or actually sing with your track. If you choose to sing with your track, please provide a track without the main vocals (like a karaoke track).
  9. Applications must be completed and submitted between July 1 and August 17, 2024. Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
  10. Applications will be screened and chosen for participation by ToshoCON staff. Successful groups will be notified of their inclusion no later than September 2, 2024.
  11. You will be required to attend a rehearsal at the Library’s Viridian Event Center on Thursday, September 12 at 6 pm. At least one member of your group must attend this rehearsal. If you want to run your full performance, in costume or out of costume, you may do so. This will help things run more smoothly on the day of the showcase.
